Formulation of nanohybrid coating based on essential oil and fluoroalkyl silane for antibacterial superhydrophobic surfaces

This paper reveals the role of microstructures formed on surface aluminum substrates created by acid etching. A wettability study showed that using a fluorinated silica polymer (PF) and essential oil eucalyptus (ECA) with adequate texture promoted antibacterial activity. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) images micro-nanostructure enhanced possibility loading ECA as an agent. Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy analysis confirmed chemical linkage between different components surface. Antibacterial tests carried out inhibition discs displayed behavior surface's against Bacillus cereus Escherichia coli bacteria. The direct its capacity to limit bacterial adherence when exposed bacteria contamination, 99.19% 97.28% in case B. ECA:PF-based coatings. In E. these were 94.65% 98.69% PF ECA:PF respectively.
